Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a vitamin-like compound with antioxidant properties. Our body produces it naturally to support the growth and maintenance of cells. CoQ10 is found in cells all throughout the body, with its highest concentrations in the heart, kidneys, liver, and pancreas.

Cellular and tissue protection and preservation are key functions of CoQ10. Research indicates this nutrient supports healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels, which may better support circulatory and heart health.

Each serving of Ova Balance delivers a highly concentrated 300mg of CoQ10 that’s been solubilized with d-limonene oil from citrus rind, formulated in a proprietary fatty acid base, and fortified with natural vitamin E. This process has been shown to support the high absorption and stability of CoQ10.

OVA Balance offers a fat-soluble nutrient that supports the body’s tissue against oxidative damage. Ova Balance may support mitochondrial DNA against oxidative stress and cellular damage and support a healthy body while trying to conceive. Ubiquinone and ubiquinol are both compounds derived from CoQ10, or coenzyme Q10, which is an antioxidant often utilized in supplement form to boost whole body health, improve fertility, and support cardiovascular health. Both forms have the same functions in the body. Based on research, the main difference between the two compounds is that ubiquinol is claimed to be more bioavailable than ubiquinone, which means it can be better absorbed by the body.
  1. The typical dose of ubiquinol is around 200 mg. That said, there are certain conditions that require a higher dose – generally ranging between 300 mg to 600 mg. Studies have shown that 600 mg of ubiquinol is the optimal dose for fertility in both men and women. In men, this dose increases the concentration, motility, and density of sperm in men experiencing infertility. In women, this dose improves fertility by activating a natural ovarian response and lessens the effects of aging on ovaries.

There are certain foods such as meat, avocados, spinach, nuts, and fatty fish that provide a natural dietary source of ubiquinol, the bioavailable form of CoQ10. That said, the amount of ubiquinol found in these items is insignificant. As a result, an individual would need to consume a large quantity of these foods to obtain just 100 mg of ubiquinol.
CoQ10 deficiency can present with many symptoms. Most commonly, an individual may experience coordination issues, seizures, inadequate muscle tone, involuntary muscle contractions, muscle stiffness, abnormal eye movements, vision and/or hearing loss, elevated serum cholesterol, edema, blood clotting, and anemia.
